I am happy to report that my transition into
the Attorney General's Office could not have been smoother,
and my first 100 days could not have been more successful!
At the time of this writing, we are close to a long-awaited
resolution in the Lakeview School Funding case, and 15 of
our 16 proposed bills became law during the recent
legislative session. Here are some highlights:
- Real Time Electronic Logbook
(ACT 508): Creates a
searchable database for law enforcement containing
information collected as a result of Act 256 of the 85th
General Assembly (pseudo ephedrine purchases).
- Sexual Predator Custody (ACT
56): Prohibits a sex
offender from being awarded child custody or unsupervised
visitation.
- Restricts Location of Adult
Entertainment Businesses (ACT 387):
Prohibits adult entertainment businesses from being
located within 1,000 feet of schools, playgrounds, places
of worship, or private homes.
- Credit Report Freeze (ACT 391):
Allows victims of identity theft to place a freeze on
their consumer credit report.
These important consumer and law enforcement
measures would not now be law if it wasn't for your
continued support, for which I am very grateful. In my first
100 days, you have helped this office put Arkansas on a
better path to a brighter future.
